Happy Holidays!

What a crazy, busy week we have had! The Idaho friends were here until Monday afternoon, then Dadney went back to work for a few days and Mama worked Christmas day and Sunday (that is why this post comes on Monday). Mixed in there was a night at our friends' house and several trips to the grocery and other locations. We are tired in a good way.
Potty Update: It is going very well. She only pees in a diaper overnight and hasn't had any accidents this week. She still won't poop on the potty, but we can wait for that. We are still pleased!
Enjoy our week in review!
Judah story:
Judah has really been working through boundaries with Mama and Dadney. We emphasize that she must listen to what we say and respond to it even when she doesn't want to. Usually, we ask her to say "Wisten to Mama and wisten to Dadney" before she can return to playing after she has had a hard time listening or complying with our instructions. Her response this week was to say "Wisten to Mama an wisten to Dadney...no wisten to toys! No wisten to lion! No wisten to polar bear! No wisten to Elmo! No wisten to walrus! No wisten to chair! No wisten to table! No wisten to pillow! No wisten to cup! No wisten to Mama....oh! Wisten to Mama!!!!" We decided that the best response was just to affirm her and laugh.

Just before our friends set sail on the sky this week, we took a last minute "family" picture...it was a good visit and then it was time to say goodbye...

So, the farewells were spoken more with a kiss than with words, but the two girls seemed to be content with that.

"Mama dress ah me up in ah tights an ah pretty shirt! My shirt have ah butterfly! Tights have ah flowers! That pretty! My wike (like) it!"

This is the Vogue pose...see the long, pretty hair.....

So, Mama and Dadney have been struggling with the decision to cut or not to cut Judah's hair for several (like 6) months. It is hard because she has never had a haircut and hard because we love her pretty, long hair. We want to make sure that she grows up knowing that comfort is MUCH more important than vanity and we want to make it easier to cut and fix her hair (for Judah and for Mama)...SO............

Mama nervously makes the first hair incision...now we're committed!

The end result! Still long, still cute...NO TANGLES! NO SPLIT ENDS!!!!!

At the longest, I cut off just over 3 inches. Since her hair was naturally layered, it was only a 1/2 inch or so off the front. Several days later, the only tangles have been caused by yogurt...you'll understand soon...

"My in ah nest! Dadney make ah chairs nest! Is SILLY!"

This one is all about the nails!

Abby and Judah were about to fight over this toy and then Judah had an ingenious idea..."Abby push Judah in ah stroller! Weeeeee!"

While Zia could not fit into the stroller with Judah, she did get in on the act by finding another wheeled vehicle.

"My in ah tunnel! My have a nest! Dadney help you make ah tunnel and ah nest! Mama, wook at me!"

"My smile! Dadney give ah picture!"

(Note: we say "take" a picture and she inferred that she should request that we "give" a picture...though not correct, Mama is still impressed!)

Well, being more independent doesn't always look like what Mama had in mind...

"My brink (drink) it! Mmmmmmm! That good!"

"My lick it off ah wip (lip)...mmmmmm!"

Enjoy your holiday!
