The Week of Two

Well viewers, this is the Week of Two. Judah will be two on Friday...5 days till the big day! In the meantime, our family is moving (again!) to live in campus apartments again. We loved living on campus and find it to be an economical and social choice that will be very positive.

In other news, Dadney got a promotion this week and will begin a new job with VOA as a Family Services Coordinator--a step up in responsibility and pay. We are so proud of Dadney!

Judah stories:

1. This week Judah is particularly concerned with hand cleanliness and wants to "wash ha hands!" as many times as Mama will allow in a day. Mama uses hand washing time to comb and fix Judah's hair. So, one one such occasion, Judah put her hand up to the faucet and sprayed water all over herself and the bathroom. Mama said "Judah Carolynn!" and Judah turned to look Mama in the eye and said "Mama Carolynn!" Guess she showed me!

2. On the sweet side, Dadney had to work Saturday and went off on the "scoodner" for work only to break down a mile from home. Mama and Judah ran out in pajamas to get Dadney and Mama explained that Dadney's scooter was broken on the way. When Dadney got in the car, Judah quietly and sadly said "Sorry Dadney scoodner broooken." She is a truly empathetic soul!

3. Today Judah went to the laundry with Mama to start a load and was SO excited to get home to "run an see Dadney!" Mama encouraged this and Dadney greeted Judah happily. Judah went over to where Dadney was sitting and put her arms around his waist, laid her head in his lap and said "Miss you Dadney!" We almost cried with the sweetness.

And in final news, with the illness of the scoodner, we really need another way to get around...since Justy died last month and we are back to one car, we bought another one this weekend. It is a 1998 Volvo S70. It is a cute little black number with black leather interior and all the super nice electronic features. It gets great mileage and should last a long time. We are pleased with our choice!

Judah wanted a tunnel, so we made her table into a house and a tunnel for play time

Judah and her baby were right at home and spent much of the morning in the "Judah house!"

Then, Judah wanted to "wear pants ah Dadney! wear shirt ah Dadney!"

Dadney obliged

Happiness is a sweet little girl

"Judah ride ah dinahsar an wave ever-body!"

"Judah hug ah camel!"

Mama was brave this week and kept Abby and Zia for a 3 hour play date so their moms could work and get things done. We plan to use this more and more to help each other out.

The tent was a big favorite

Also, everyone took time to "sit on ah balls!"

Judah is my little hall monitor. She makes sure to keep me aprised of the actions of everyone in the house at all times. She isn't tattling, just reporting.

Back at the park (out of order and Mama is too tired to fix it), Judah scared Mama when Mama found her "climb on ah thing!"

With very little verbal coaching, she "do it self!"

higher...

higher...

and over the wall! I am not sure Mama could even do this treacherous thing.

"clapping ah socks on ah hands!"

Guess where I found Judah this week...

she rearranged for us...how sweet of her!

Bless her little heart!

I couldn't resist a picture in these pajamas

Sunday best!

On this particular Sunday, we left Judah in the nursery at church and she was not there when I came to pick her up after service. A few minutes later, a nursery aid came walking up with her after taking her for a walk because she was "restless" and "a little fussy". Needless to say, Mama and Dadney talked about this one and Mama shared a number of concerns with the Religious Education Director and then with the nursery worker in person this morning. It was our first instance of feeling that Judah's safety was not secure and we worked through some emotions about how we want to handle issues like this one. End result, no nursery worker will ever again take a child out of the room unless there is a fire or other such danger. Apology accepted.

We love our sweet girl more than life...but you knew that!

Welcome to the third year of Judah's life!

The party is on Saturday if anyone cares to attend...Dinosaur park at 10am.
The following is Judah singing: Happy Birthday, Itsy Bitsy Spider and Old MacDonald

This one is Judah playing catch with Dadney. Friend Allison is there in the background.
