Christmas, New Years and SCHOOL!

Oh what a few weeks it has been! Judah is getting taller and has had a verbal and conceptual explosion! She says things like "however" in normal conversation. What?!?

We spent Christmas as a family: making donuts for breakfast, playing with toys, watching a movie. It was relaxing and fun.

We had a visit from Nana and Papa and spent a day with Aunt Janna, Uncle Craig and the cousins Lauren, Marley and Oliver. It was a really nice family visit.

Judah started preschool today! It was all her idea too. She has been asking to "go to MY school EVERY DAY!" since August. We found a really neat Montessori preschool that is in an old house. Her teacher is Miss Lili. We wanted to take Judah for a visit, but they were closed for the holidays and a visit did not work out. We were hoping for the best on her first day. When Cody dropped Judah off today, she gave him a hug and kiss and walked up to the teacher and said, "Are you my teacher? Is your name Miss Lili? Pleased to meet you!" Then, she went and lined up with the other children to go outside for play time.

Look out world! Here she comes!

First day of "Montey-ssori preschool"

Yep, she went right up to the kids and started playing and making friends!
Mama picked her up after school and she was tired, sweaty, stinky, dirty, and
GLORIOUSLY HAPPY!
After a bath and some dinner, she just beamed for the rest of the night.

Here is a saga from Nana and Papa's visit. While Mama was in the shower one morning, Judah started working on something on a yellow note pad. When asked, she informed Nana she was writing a poem (didn't know she knew what that was!)
"This is my pengiun. He goes with the poem I wrote for Nana!"

"This is my poem!"
She wrote it and then held it up in front of her and "read" it to Nana. Nana was shocked and asked her to slow down and repeat it so she could write it down.

Here is how it goes:

(If you were wondering, no, you may not publish this anywhere else without Judah's permission!)

WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!? She is 3 folks!

It is beautiful and thoughtful. We were all touched and impressed.

We got a new computer, iMAC, through a grant program I enrolled in for educational expenses...a computer counts! WooHoo! Ours were dead!

(Papa, Oliver, Marley, Lauren, Judah, Nana)

Nana and Papa took us to see the Zoo Lights--it was freezing (literally) and fun

"Yes, Mama, I am doin my swagger."

"Can you tell I feel sad, Mama? I make my face like this for sad."

MARBLE RACE! Our gift to Judah for Christmas--you can build it lots of ways and it is very fun!

Judah when compared to Daddy's beer bottle cap collection from 2009--does she look impressed?

MOVIE TIME! This is a movie from the Children's Museum where we went with Nana and Papa. FYI: Judah LOVES to tap dance like Happy Feet!
